Starnet Flooring Design Awards Entry: Ronald McDonald House
Interior Surface partnered with MLS Works, Sporting KC and other area businesses to create a warm welcoming environment for Ronald McDonald House.
Supporting families for over 50 years, The Ronald McDonald House is a Kansas City Icon. The mission of the RMH is to “reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families by providing a “home away from home” while the children are receiving medical care in Kansas City-area hospitals.”
There was a need for additional space to welcome these families. Even with limited funds, a short installation schedule and the obstacle of a small space, we were able to successfully meet the client’s objectives. Using donated materials, labor, furnishings and design services by Jen Bertrand, Season 3 Winner of HGTV’s Design Star, we took an outdated basement space in one of the RMH’s and turned it into a unique oasis where children, teens and families dealing with cancer are able to leave their worries behind.
Using American Olean 1X1 Matte Mosaic Mixed Tiles matching the Sporting Kansas City Colors, Interior Surface installers wrapped both restrooms from floor to ceiling with this modern tile. Walking into this cheerful space creates a vibe of positive energy that all can feel and enjoy.
